About Us

The department of Forest Ecology and Management currently has 25 PhD students and 24 senior supervisors (Professors and Associate Professors). The department has responsibility for nine of the competence areas at the Faculty of Forest Sciences. We attract PhD students from Sweden as well as abroad, having varying backgrounds and expertise. In this way we are in strong position to consolidate existing courses into a defined curriculum, as well as develop new interdisciplinary courses and activities across departments within SLU that address topics in high demand by society.

The research school is coordinated by the two associate professors, Ulrik Ilstedt and Michael Gundale.
